Our Second Year!
Wow!
Another year has passed and I really don’t know where it went. It seems like yesterday that I was being surprised by all of my members, friends, and family for our one year anniversary.
That was such an amazing day and since then so many things have happened.
At this time last year it was still just me, grinding away. I think I had suckered my sister into helping a little, but not quite as much as she does now. The facility was half as big. We didn’t have a supplement shop and our membership base was about 75% less than what it is right now.
That’s how much can change in a year. A|M Fitness now has 3 employees and a couple of more on the way. We’ve opened up our shop, doubled in size, and have far surpassed my projected memberships for being only 2 years old.
I couldn’t have done this without the help and support of some very special people. These are people that see the vision, share the dream, and help to make A|M Fitness the very best it can be. I would like to thank Jen, Tom, and Kevin for all that they do every single day.
Jen is the master behind the scenes. She keeps me organized and on track. She’s been there every step of the way. She’s of course a great employee, but more importantly, my sister and the person I know I can turn to for a straight answer. She is one of the greatest people I have ever known and I am just happy that we get to help each other in all aspects of life.
Tom is one of the hardest working employees I’ve ever had. He shows up every single day, regardless of anything. I can ask him to do anything, but I don’t have to. He is motivated and proves himself every day at A|M Fitness. He always has a good attitude and always puts in 110%.
Kevin, well Kevin is hard to explain. He’s definitely my right hand. I think from the first time he and I spoke about business I knew we had to work together. I could see something special in him and know that there was a reason he was brought to A|M Fitness. Since his start, our business relationship has turned into a great friendship and I believe that the role he plays has significant meaning in my life. He’s a hard worker, straight shooter, and all around great person.
Lastly, I can’t forget about the members. Without you there would be none of us. I’ve created so many great friendships. I’ve been a part of life events, happiness, and sorrow. I’ve been a shoulder for people to cry on and some of you have helped me through some very difficult times. It is a privilege to work with so many great people on a daily basis and I can’t thank you enough for allowing me to love my job as much as I do.
As I look at the change and growth that has happened over just the past 12 months, I can’t help but to look towards the next 12. We’ve got new employees coming, new facilities opening, and a couple of other little surprises sprinkled in along the way.
I am truly grateful and cannot express how much it means that you have all helped me turn this crazy dream I had into one of the greatest training facilities in CT.
Cheers to year 3!
