Best Me Yet Results, Bettye Jo

Bettye Jo is an interesting participant because it actually took her awhile to buy into the whole process. Like so many, she started off following the program with some doubts. She was concerned she was eating too much food; she wasn’t seeing huge chunks of weight loss; all things that a lot of people traditionally struggle with when they start a meal plan with us. We had many conversations dealing with her frustration. She was eager to progress to the next phase which would restrict her calories further. Many are eager to cut their calories, likely because all of the hottest, trendiest diets tell us that a restrictive diet is the best way to lose weight. We don’t follow this mentality.

I was seeing the changes in her. Her weight loss was happening in small increments on the scale week to week, but she was losing weight at a steady, healthy rate. So I didn’t let her progress. The attitude change came when she saw the follow up InBody scan. She finally saw all the amazing progress she had made from week one to week five. She saw that she was down six pounds, all of it fat, and nearly NO muscle loss, a big accomplishment over the course of five weeks. From that point on, she was dedicated, and she believed. Every interaction was positive and exciting. I heard from not only her, but also her family members (some of whom attend the gym with her) that she stuck to that plan no matter what, even during family gatherings when her family members allowed themselves to eat more than they should and indulge in food items that they knew weren’t “meal plan approved,” Bettye Jo was still dedicated and eating only what was going to get her closer toward her goals.

She also mentioned that all of the cravings she had had in the past were totally gone, she felt completely satisfied after every meal and never felt like she was missing out on anything; not food, not family, not fun. Bettye Jo was an awesome participant, and at the end of the 10 week challenge, she was down 11 pounds of fat and even gained a minimal amount of muscle. It’s not just her health and appearance that changed, so did her mentality. She is much happier and even more dedicated to her new lifestyle than ever before. And I have no doubt that this is a change that she will keep for many years to come, maybe even her entire life.

Here’s what Bettye Jo had to say at the end of the program:

“Good morning, I just want to say thank you for helping me with the kick start that I needed. I feel really great at where I am at the end of this challenge. I will continue to make better choices with what I put in my body as well as meal prep and exercise. I lost about 11lbs, my fat levels have gone down and gained just a little muscle but over all I am thrilled. I don’t think I can ever go back to a normal boring gym again. Thanks again.”
