Have You Meet Nicole Yet?

How did I land here at A|M Fitness you ask? Well, almost 2 years ago I finally bit the bullet and registered for my personal training certification. I studied for the course during all of my free time and officially became a personal trainer about 6 months later! Now what? What’s my next step? I was trying to figure out what direction I wanted to go when the following story began to unfold.

It was a Friday night in May of 2016 and I was waiting for my son’s school play to start. To pass the time I pulled up Facebook. The very first thing that came up was this guy Mike’s post about how he was looking for a personal trainer and an intern. I turned to my husband and said, “Look at this… it must be a sign”. The reason I thought this was because at that time, I didn’t even know Mike. I can’t recall how or when we became friends on Facebook and don’t recall seeing his posts before then. I knew of the gym and some people that had attended but that was the extent of it. So, I messaged him right then and went in the next week to meet and see the gym. After sharing a little bit about myself, I began my internship about a week later.

Mikes program structure was very appealing and something I could relate to. I had taught classes and coached before but this was completely different. As I stood back and observed how things were run, I was amazed. The knowledge that all of the coaches had and the attention that was given to everyone was reassuring but a little overwhelming. There was still so much that I needed to learn. As the weeks went on, the staff was patient with helping me learn and grow. With time came confidence and knowledge on my end. I have put in a lot of time and passion into becoming not just a coach but a coach at A|M Fitness. It is an honor to say that I am now a coach here. I work for a great gym with great coaches that learn from each other day in and day out. We offer a great program that works and I think one of my favorite parts of this gym are the clients. It truly is a fit family and the positive energy that is always present is just amazing.
